Position Summary
The HVAC Estimator is responsible for reviewing construction documents, performing HVAC takeoffs, selecting equipment, developing pricing, and preparing quotations for contractors, engineers, and project stakeholders.
The ideal candidate has experience estimating commercial HVAC projects and is comfortable reading mechanical plans, specifications, and schedules while working directly with sales personnel, contractors, and manufacturers.

Job Description
Position Summary
The HVAC Estimator is responsible for reviewing construction documents, performing HVAC takeoffs, selecting equipment, developing pricing, and preparing quotations for contractors, engineers, and project stakeholders.
The ideal candidate has experience estimating commercial HVAC projects and is comfortable reading mechanical plans, specifications, and schedules while working directly with sales personnel, contractors, and manufacturers.
Key Responsibilities
- Review mechanical drawings, specifications, and addenda.
- Perform quantity takeoffs for HVAC products and systems.
- Select and size equipment based on project requirements and specifications.
- Prepare accurate and timely quotations for contractors and customers.
- Coordinate with manufacturers regarding pricing, lead times, product applications, and technical support.
- Review bid documents and identify project risks, exclusions, and opportunities.
- Track project opportunities from budget pricing through awarded projects.
- Work closely with outside sales personnel to support project pursuits.
- Maintain quotation records and project documentation within company systems.
- Assist with value engineering and alternate product recommendations.
- Participate in project turnover meetings once projects are awarded.
- 2 years of commercial HVAC estimating experience.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems and commercial construction practices.
- Experience preparing equipment quotations and bid proposals.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Experience with HVAC manufacturers' representatives.
- Familiarity with air distribution products, dampers, louvers, fans, silencers, kitchen ventilation systems, and specialty HVAC equipment.
- Experience using Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Revit, QuoteSoft, FastPIPE, or similar estimating software.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree, Construction Management, HVAC Technology, or related field.
