The IT Director provides strategic leadership and hands-on management of the university’s information technology systems. This role ensures alignment of technology initiatives with academic and administrative goals, oversees infrastructure and cybersecurity, and fosters innovation in digital learning and operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning & Leadership
Develop and execute a campus-wide IT strategy aligned with institutional priorities.
Lead and mentor IT staff, fostering a collaborative and service-oriented culture.
- Infrastructure & Systems Management
Oversee network operations, servers, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
Manage business-critical applications including SIS, LMS, CRM, and web platforms.
Assist with maintaining and updating institutional & departmental assessment software (e.g., SPOL)
Understanding of database management and programming
Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of IT systems.
- Cybersecurity & Compliance
Maintain the university’s Information Security Plan.
Ensure compliance with FERPA, PCI, and other regulatory standards.
Implement cybersecurity awareness and training programs.
- Budgeting & Vendor Relations
Develop and manage the IT budget.
Negotiate and maintain vendor contracts for hardware, software, and services.
- Academic & Administrative Support
Collaborate with faculty and staff to support instructional technologies.
Customize and support software solutions for various departments.
Provide training and resources to enhance digital literacy across campus.
Work with University Departments to provide assessment data.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (minimum).
- 5 years of progressive IT leadership experience, preferably in higher education.
- Strong knowledge of networking, systems administration, cybersecurity, and cloud services.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
