Caregiver Job Description – RCFE 6-Bed FacilityPosition Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to join our team at a licensed Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE) with a capacity of 6 residents. Caregivers will provide daily assistance, supervision, and support to residents while ensuring compliance with California RCFE regulations and maintaining a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
- Provide support with meal preparation, serving, and feeding assistance as needed.
- Administer medications in accordance with facility policies and state guidelines.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment including resident rooms and common areas.
- Monitor residents’ physical and emotional well-being; promptly report changes to the Administrator.
- Engage residents in social, recreational, and therapeutic activities to promote quality of life.
- Document care provided, incidents, and observations in compliance with RCFE standards.
- Follow infection control, safety, and emergency procedures.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, families, and staff to ensure resident needs are met.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Certified in First Aid and CPR (required).
- Completion of RCFE caregiver training or willingness to complete upon hire.
- Experience working with seniors, preferably in assisted living or RCFE settings.
- Knowledge of dementia and Alzheimer’s care is highly desirable.
- Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift, transfer, and assist residents safely.
Schedule & Compensation
- Full-time and part-time shifts available (day, evening, overnight).
