What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Manager - Commercial Construction position at Ambercrest Construction?
About Ambercrest Construction LLC
Ambercrest Construction is a growing Dallas–Fort Worth commercial general contractor delivering high-impact public and institutional projects, including K-12 schools, airport facilities, and municipal infrastructure.
We are a lean, execution-focused team where Project Managers are given real ownership — not just oversight. You will be directly responsible for driving projects from preconstruction through closeout, working closely with leadership, clients, and trade partners.
If you’re looking for a role where your decisions matter, your performance is visible, and your growth is accelerated, Ambercrest offers a platform to build something meaningful.
Position Overview
We’re looking for a Project Manager with real experience delivering public sector construction projects in the DFW market — someone who knows how to run jobs, not just track them.
You will take ownership of active K-12 projects, taking full ownership of client relationships, subcontractors, budgets, and schedules from preconstruction through closeout.
At Ambercrest, this isn’t a “sit back and manage emails” role — you’ll have real responsibility, real visibility, and the opportunity to help shape a growing company
Duties
- Lead projects from preconstruction through closeout, with full ownership of execution
- Manage project budgets, schedules, RFIs, submittals, and change orders with a high level of accuracy and accountability
- Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, stakeholders, architects, and engineers
- Coordinate subcontractors across all trades, ensuring performance, accountability, and adherence to schedule
- Enforce strict safety, phasing, and access protocols for occupied campuses and active facilities
- Ensure full compliance with public contract requirements, including certified payroll, bonding, insurance, badging, and security protocols
- Develop and maintain CPM schedules; proactively identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Lead OAC meetings and provide clear, concise reporting to clients and company leadership
- Contribute to preconstruction efforts and support the pursuit of future public sector and aviation work
Qualifications
- 5–10 years of project management experience with a general contractor, with demonstrated success delivering construction projects
- Experience managing K-12, public sector, aviation, or other highly regulated renovation projects
- Proven ability to execute work in occupied or active facilities with strict phasing, safety, and access constraints
- Strong working knowledge of public contract compliance, including prevailing wage, certified payroll, and municipal requirements
- Proficiency in Procore, Microsoft Project, Primevera and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to lead owner meetings and manage diverse project stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $100,000 – $125,000 depending on experience
- Performance bonus tied to project delivery, profitability, and company growth milestones
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- Paid time off and company holidays
- Professional development support (PMP, certifications, and industry training)
- Direct access to company leadership with a clear path to Senior Project Manager as Ambercrest grows
Why Ambercrest Construction?
At Ambercrest, you’ll have a seat at the table from day one. You won’t be one of 50 PMs at a large GC — you’ll be a key part of a small, driven team building something real in the Dallas community.
We have funded projects ready to go, trusted public-sector clients, and a clear growth trajectory. This role offers real ownership, direct access to leadership, and the opportunity to help shape how projects are delivered as we scale.
If you’re looking for more than just a job — and want to take ownership, grow with a company, and make a visible impact — this is the opportunity.
