LOCATION: San Francisco
HOURS: Part-Time requiring evenings, weekends and some holidays
ABOUT THE POSITION
Curran Theatre is looking for enthusiastic, dynamic ambassadors to join our highly skilled Front of House department for the new Harry Potter and the Cursed Child production. The ideal candidate will have exceptional customer service skills, be proactive problem solvers and effective communicators, be able to fully embody the company vision and values and possess a desire to achieve the very highest standards in all their work. Our usher team is essential to the successful running of our FOH operation ensuring our patrons have the very best experience and the integrity of the show is always kept intact. PEOPLE, PLACES, and THINGS
Built in 1922, the Curran has housed some of the biggest productions in theater history and has maintained a reputation over the course of its life as one of the premier live entertainment venues in North America. Under the curation of eight-time Tony Award-winner Carole Shorenstein Hays, almost a century after it welcomed its first Bay Area audiences, the Curran has just completed a major restoration and renovation. Curran reopened our 1,600 seat venue in January 2017 with the groundbreaking musical FUN HOME. Since then, we've welcomed even more incredible productions, including ECLIPSED, TAYLOR MAC'S 24 DECADE project, SOFT POWER, DEAR EVAN HANSEN and THE JUNGLE. Next up inside our Curran is HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD.
Ushers provide exemplary customer service- Ensure public safety for all attending patrons
- Uphold and enforce the theatre’s policies and procedures
- Acquire working knowledge and practice of emergency procedures
- Ticket scanning and distributing Showbills
- Directing and seating patrons in their ticketed seats
- Utilize a proactive approach to problem solving
- COVID-19 vaccination is a condition of employment
EXPERIENCE and SKILLS
- Experience working in a customer-faced environment is required
- Good interpersonal relations and communication skills
- Possess a positive attitude and be flexible, friendly and courteous with patrons and fellow staff members
- Passionate about venue management/performing arts is preferred but not required
