What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Roofing Laborer position at Ambassador Personnel, Inc.?
Ambassador has immediate needs for General Roofing Laborers in the Oconee County, SC area; this is a great opportunity with a growing company.
Positions are 1st Shift, Monday-Friday 6:30am - 5pm. Some weekends or OT as needed.
Major Responsibilities:
- Follow and adhere to company, customer, and OSHA policies.
- Assist with loading and unloading roofing materials
- Set up and tear down ladders, scaffolding, and safety equipment
- Remove old roofing materials
- Install new roofing materials
- Maintain a clean and safe job site
- Follow directions from foreman or lead roofer
- Operate hand and power tools safely
- Help with clean-up and debris removal at the end of each workday
Required Experience & Skills:
- 2 Valid forms of Federal US ID.
- Ability to pass a drug/alcohol test (subject to random tests after hire).
- Subject to background check and personal history questionnaire.
- Must be able to pass off-site safety certification and fitness for duty – initial training for 2-3 days to gain access, which is held off-site.
- Prior commercial roofing or construction experience is preferred, but not required.
- Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) and assist in strenuous manual labor.
- Comfortable working at heights and on steep slopes.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and have a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred.
- External relevant certified training is a major plus (rigging, hand signals, PIV, etc).
