PARAPROFESSIONAL JOB POSTING: 2026-2027 School Year

Position Summary

Ambassador Christian Academy is seeking a professional, dependable, and caring Kindergarten Paraprofessional to support classroom instruction and assist in creating a positive, structured learning environment for our youngest learners. The successful candidate will work closely with the classroom teacher to provide academic support, reinforce classroom expectations, assist with daily routines, and contribute to a culture of excellence, professionalism, and Christian values.

Essential Responsibilities

• Assist the kindergarten teacher with classroom instruction, small-group activities, and individualized student support
• Support student learning in literacy, mathematics, and other academic areas as directed by the classroom teacher
• Reinforce classroom expectations and assist with behavior management in a positive and consistent manner
• Help prepare instructional materials, classroom displays, and learning centers
• Monitor students during arrival, dismissal, lunch, recess, and other assigned duties
• Maintain a safe, organized, and productive classroom environment
• Demonstrate professionalism in all interactions with students, families, staff members, and visitors
• Maintain confidentiality regarding student and school information
• Perform other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher or school administration

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience working with children in an educational, childcare, ministry, youth development, or related setting
• Demonstrated history of professionalism, reliability, and strong attendance
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, families, and school leadership
• Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of at least 60 college credit hours from an accredited institution, preferably in Education, Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field
• Previous experience working in a kindergarten or elementary school classroom
• Experience providing academic support in reading and mathematics
• CPR and First Aid certification

Special Consideration

We may consider candidates with only a high school diploma who demonstrate exceptional experience working with young children, a strong record of attendance and dependability, professional references, and a proven ability to support student learning in a structured educational environment.

• Regular attendance and punctuality are required
• Kindergarten students benefit from consistency, structure, and stable relationships; therefore, daily presence is critical
• Applicants must be able to report to work each day as scheduled and arrive on time
• This position is not well suited for individuals who anticipate frequent absences or schedule conflicts
• Candidates must demonstrate a professional appearance, positive attitude, strong work ethic, and sound judgment in their interactions with students, families, and colleagues
• The successful candidate will be expected to communicate respectfully, maintain confidentiality, and represent the school in a professional manner at all times

Pre-Employment Requirements

Employment is contingent upon successfully completing all pre-employment requirements, including:

• Criminal background screening
• Drug screening

Candidates who are unable to pass the required background investigation and drug screening successfully will not be eligible for employment.

Compensation

• $16.81 - $18.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience
