Description

Amazon Leo launches a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that deliver low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities worldwide. Amazon Leo for Government (ALG) provides high-speed, low-latency, and secure broadband access for United States and global government customers using Amazon Leo’s advanced satellite network.

This position requires that the candidate selected be a U.S. Citizen in order to comply with U.S. government-imposed requirements related to the nature of the work and/or where it will be performed.

We seek a dynamic Senior Training Manager who will serve as the organization's primary training architect for our Sales teams, channel partners, and internal employees. You will develop comprehensive content, certifications, role qualifications, and establish our new Check Ride/Certification Programs from the ground up. You will create mechanisms that develop and validate the skills our partners and team members need to quickly and effectively earn the role of trusted business advisor to government customers.

As the architect of our training ecosystem, you will:
* Establish the foundational Check Ride Program that validates partner and employee readiness
* Create scalable certification pathways that ensure consistent competency across the organization
* Build assessment frameworks that measure real-world application of skills
* Develop content that transforms technical knowledge into customer-facing expertise
* Design validation processes that ensure our teams can confidently serve government customers

Key job responsibilities
Strategic Training and Enablement Leadership
* Design and execute comprehensive training strategies for Sales/Business Development, external partners, and other internal employees.
* Lead training initiatives across multiple geographies, partner ecosystems, and internal departments.
* Build and nurture relationships with global partners while developing internal talent pipelines.
* Implement scalable training solutions leveraging AI, advanced content authoring tools, and Learning Management Systems (LMS).

Content Development and Certification Management
* Create comprehensive training content, role-based certifications, and qualification frameworks for partners and employees.
* Design, develop and launch a comprehensive customer interaction certification program (Checkride) that validates employee competencies through structured assessments, standardized training materials, clear evaluation metrics, and documented certification processes to ensure consistent service excellence.
* Collaborate with cross functional teams (BD, Product, Deal Desk, Business Operations, Legal) to identify skills gaps and learning needs.
* Harness AI and modern content creation tools to build scalable, interactive learning experiences.
* Design and build assessment frameworks and validation mechanisms for new training programs and skill development.
* Establish and maintain rigorous content quality standards and governance processes for all training materials.

Business Impact and Performance Metrics
* Drive forecasting and planning for the business impact of training and enablement initiatives.
* Measure and report on training effectiveness and ROI across partner and employee programs.
* Own training goals as single-threaded leader for the entire Amazon Leo for Government organization.
* Generate measurable business results through successful training and development programs.

Cross-functional Leadership and Collaboration
* Partner with subject matter experts, product teams, HR, and business stakeholders.
* Influence multiple teams and organizations to advance training and enablement initiatives.
* Mentor team members in training and enablement best practices.
* Champion learning and development opportunities as thought leader across the organization.

A day in the life
You will drive our comprehensive training strategy, creating and implementing programs for both external partners and internal employees across global markets. A key focus will be establishing our Checkride Program, designing the framework, assessment criteria, and validation processes that ensure readiness and competency. You'll manage content creation, delivery methods, and program effectiveness metrics while collaborating with cross-functional teams including HR, Operations, and Business Development. You'll leverage AI and LMS technologies to scale training efforts, ensuring both partners and employees master Amazon Leo's technology and become trusted advisors to government customers. You'll track program impact, deliver regular leadership updates, and continuously refine our training approach based on feedback from all stakeholders and evolving business needs.

Basic Qualifications

- 5 years of business development, partner development, sales or alliances management experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or experience in a relevant field
- 3 years experience communicating clearly and concisely with leadership, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams
- 3 years experience delivering customized learning and training solutions to diverse employee groups
- 1 years hands-on experience with modern content development tools, LMS platforms, or AI-powered learning solutions

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with one or more analytics visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, QuickSight, MicroStrategy, PowerBI)
- Experience in government contracting environments, defense industry, or delivering training to government contractor audiences.
- Experience in satellite, telecommunications, or related technical industries.
- Expertise with AI-powered content development and automation.
- Demonstrated success building and maintaining strategic business partnerships while developing internal capabilities.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $124,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $215,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
