Key job responsibilities
As the Senior Retrofit Quality Manager, you will lead the standardization, execution quality, and post-launch performance of retrofit programs across Amazon's fulfillment network. You will own the end-to-end quality lifecycle of retrofits; from pre-installation readiness, staffing and training, through execution and go-live, to post-launch performance and disengagement criteria. Acting as the voice of the RME field, you will partner with Engineering, Operations, and Central Teams to bridge the gap between design and real-world execution, eliminating repeat failures, improving installation consistency, and accelerating site stabilization at scale. This is a highly visible role requiring strong ownership, technical depth, and the ability to influence across multiple organizations.
This role requires up to 80% regional travel and availability to work from a corporate office or fulfillment center when not traveling. Candidates should either live near or be within a reasonable commuting distance of the corporate office or fulfillment center.

Key job responsibilities
- You will travel domestically up to 80%, conducting site visits across North America to validate execution quality, support critical retrofit phases, and ensure field learnings are captured and fed back into standards and future deployments
- You will own the Retrofit Quality Program end-to-end. Defining and implementing quality mechanisms including playbooks, readiness gates, audits, and KPIs. Ensuring consistent deployment standards and outcomes across multiple concurrent sites and programs
- You will establish and enforce site readiness criteria (staffing, training, spare parts, PM setup, and system readiness), driving defect reduction and elimination of repeat failures to ensure sites are fully prepared for go-live
- You will lead post-launch performance management by defining stabilization metrics and disengagement criteria, driving root cause analysis and corrective actions for early-life failures, and ensuring sites achieve target OEE, availability, throughput, and quality outcomes
- You will act as the RME field advocate; influencing Engineering, Operations, Safety, and vendor partners to ensure design intent translates to field execution, while building scalable reporting mechanisms (WBR, dashboards) to track risk, readiness, and performance across the network

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Reliability Engineering, or 2 years of Amazon RME (BB/3P) Full Time Exempt experience
- Work flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays
- 3 years of experience in material handling equipment (MHE), automation, or reliability/maintenance environments
- 3 years of experience leading cross-functional teams across engineering, operations, and field execution through launch readiness and go-live phases
- Experience working cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders
- Master's degree in engineering, mechanical, operations, supply chain, business administration, or equivalent STEM field
- Experience building launch readiness frameworks, standard work, playbooks, and scalable deployment mechanisms across multiple concurrent sites
- Experience with performance metrics such as OEE, downtime, throughput, or quality
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience in Amazon RME, fulfillment operations, or automation deployment environments
