Processing Technician, Satellite Integration, Leo Payload Processing Facility

Key job responsibilities
- Support Integration and test of the Leo satellite and various complex sub-assemblies in a clean-room and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) controlled environment
- Can apply a deep understanding of a broad range of tools, equipment, and handling machinery to accomplish your daily tasks effectively and efficiently
- Upholds all safety requirements in all zones and work locations of responsibility
- Supports team members in flight hardware processing in work zones
- Execute assigned work to meet production schedules
- Rigging and critical lifts of bulky, sensitive flight hardware
- Able to obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits, and/or certifications as required
- Use precision calibrated tools – torque wrenches, multi-meters, optical inspection devices, micrometers and calipers
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Perform work according to procedures, specifications, and test instructions
- Support functional and environmental testing on units, including some basic troubleshooting operations
- Check and inspect your work after completion to ensure engineering and quality standards are met per the drawing and work instruction requirements
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to develop and document activities, including continuous improvement opportunities
- Perform other duties, as assigned, to ensure an efficient, safe and effective work environment
- Willing to work overtime and weekends as required
- Nominal 1st shift schedule but schedule may vary depending on production/launch schedules.
- Must be willing and able to perform extended travel up to 25% annually, either domestically or internationally as business needs demand.
- Must be able to pass Kennedy Space Center background checks and maintain ongoing facility access.
- Able to lift 40 lbs. unassisted

Export Control Requirements:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Candidates must be 18 years or older with the ability to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines.

A day in the life
The Processing Technician will work to complete tasks and ensure procedures are adhered to and work is completed during quality and operations on flight hardware integration processes. This position requires skill and experience in a variety of areas, including mechanical assembly, rigging, electrical checkouts, and satellite troubleshooting. In short, you will be supporting tasks to process & integrate the Leo satellite for launch, ensuring high quality, workmanship and safety standards are adhered to on a daily basis.

Basic Qualifications

- High School diploma or equivalent
- Able to obtain and maintain a US Passport and must meet customs entry requirements to include but not limited to: Yellow Fever vaccine and other immunization requirements as recommended by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
- Able to pass Kennedy Space Center background checks

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working in a fast-paced, team environment
- Experience with mechanical systems

The starting pay for this position is listed below, including the base pay rate plus the highest available shift differential which applies depending on the shift you select. As a total compensation company, additional earnings may include shift differentials and overtime pay. Final pay will be based on factors including shift selection and location.
