OISL MFG Functional Lead - 2nd shift, Amazon Leo

Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. We are looking for Lead MFG Assembly Technician who will identify process improvements to improve build efficiency. You will work closely with multiple engineering teams on both early hardware development and setting the stage for later production hardware manufacturing processes. The successful candidate thrives in a fast paced, start-up like environment and are able to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills and commitment to quality to positively impact team metrics and organization goals. To be successful you need to be highly motivated and detail oriented while showing the highest standards of execution.

Key job responsibilities

• Driving and developing departmental continuous improvement initiatives and support implementation.
• Assemble mechanical and electrical satellite components, sub-assemblies, and integration assemblies, fabricating and/or processing materials into complex manufactured products, and operating testing equipment and tooling, all in a Cleanroom and ESD control environment.
• Lead process work and review output for quality and adherence to standards and procedures
• Lead daily team meeting facilitation, end-of-shift reporting, and coordinating efforts to minimize production interruptions.
• Support new-hire training programs within your department and contribute to development and modification of training programs. You develop training plans for your team and are responsible for implementing training programs within your department.
• Drive safety standards and operations protocol while ensuring team compliance.
  
  

Export Control Requirement

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Basic Qualifications

• 1 years in a high traceability manufacturing environment, or relevant trade school certification
• 1 years using hand tools and/or precision measuring instruments (i.e., Calipers, multi-meters, torque wrenches)
• 1 years working with test tools and test methods that adequately validate the system
• Experience reading, interpreting and working from engineering documentation and/or drawings
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the aerospace industry, automotive industry, medical device industry, aviation, military or other high-reliability operating environment
• Experience in a fast-paced production environment
• Experience working with FOD, ESD sensitive hardware and clean room requirements
• Experience with forklifts, cranes and heavy equipment (including previous certifications)
• A demonstrated ability in reading/understanding technical drawings, work instructions and standard operating procedures
• Some basic knowledge of electrical, optical and mechanical systems, antennas, functional testing and/or satellite components
• Ability to use multiple types of precision measuring instruments
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
