Join our Corporate and Securities Legal team in Seattle. Note: This role is not suitable for law degree holders or those currently in law school. We're looking for professionals seeking to build foundational skills in corporate legal operations.
Key job responsibilities
- Provide administrative support for public company corporate, securities, and governance matters with exceptional accuracy
- Draft and review internal and external communications with strong attention to grammar, verb tenses, and professional writing standards
- Maintain critical process compliance including calendaring, filing, and task tracking for securities reporting functions
- Support Section 16 reporting and day-to-day insider trading compliance matters
- Manage high volumes of sensitive tasks and projects requiring quick turnaround with minimal margin for error
- Leverage AI tools and emerging technologies to improve work efficiency and effectiveness
- Earn trust quickly by asking insightful questions and demonstrating strong judgment
- Collaborate with legal team members and stakeholders at all levels inside and outside the company
A day in the life
Your primary focus is ensuring accuracy and compliance in corporate securities and governance matters and processes. You'll manage filing calendars, draft communications for legal review, and coordinate reporting. You'll juggle multiple urgent deadlines—sometimes things escalate quickly to senior leadership, so precision matters. You'll work directly with attorneys, asking questions to understand complex concepts and spotting opportunities to streamline processes.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
- 2 years of professional administrative or paralegal experience in a corporate, legal, or professional services environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in paralegal or equivalent legal secretary role
- Experience handling confidential information and maintaining professionalism in dealing with senior executives
- Familiarity with SEC reporting, Section 16 compliance, or public company corporate governance
- Working knowledge of insider trading compliance policies and 10b5-1 trading plans
- Track record of earning trust quickly in fast-paced, high-stakes environments

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $47,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $102,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
