Amazon Web Services is seeking a Principal Solutions Architect to lead the technical architecture development of Public Sector focused AI-driven data centric cloud solution for national security and public sector missions. In this role, you will be the Principal technical lead responsible for architecting and delivering a unified solution that addresses the growing global need for critical national assets protection. You will drive the technical strategy for a solution that transforms national security by moving from siloed, domain-specific approaches to a unified platform that coordinates responses across both physical and digital threats.
This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and currently possess and maintain an active Top Secret security clearance.
Key job responsibilities
Your broad responsibilities will include: leading the technical architecture for multi-source intelligence integration and digital twin technology; designing scalable, real-time command and control architectures for national security missions; architecting AI-driven threat detection and autonomous response systems; ensuring complete data sovereignty and human-in-the-loop oversight capabilities; defining implementation strategies for diverse deployment scenarios including sovereign and multi-nation collaborations and serving as the primary technical authority on advanced cloud security, edge computing, and AI/ML integration for defense applications.
You will collaborate directly with military stakeholders, intelligence community leaders, and international partners to translate the most critical operational requirements into innovative technical solutions. You will lead cross-functional teams of architects, engineers, and data scientists while establishing AWS as the essential partner in national security infrastructure with capabilities no other cloud provider can match.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $239,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Basic Qualifications
- 6 years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
- 3 years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- 6 years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
- Associate's degree or above, or CASP (CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner) or CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional) or Cloud or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above
- 5 years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience
- Knowledge of SAP systems (like SAP Business Suite, S/4HANA, SAP Business Warehouse, SAP HANA, SAP Business Objects, etc.) and their architecture and infrastructure needs
- Experience working with end user or developer communities
