We are seeking a high-judgement, agile, analytical, and highly motivated product manager to join our public policy, economic development team. You will be responsible for meeting organizational needs by generating actionable insights around AWS' economic impact, and capitalize, scale, and automate our portfolio of 6 economic products. Furthermore, you will design and oversee complex research projects to support our infrastructure investment globally.


Key job responsibilities
- Work with economists and analysts to validate, calibrate, hone, automate, and scale economic research products
- Design new research products to meet organizational needs, in close collaboration with infrastructure, finance, tax, and corporate colleagues
- Reconcile datasets, secure access to relevant data sources, build relationships with peers across organizations to validate data
- Define standard operating procedures to drive simplification and automation of complex processes
- Analyze and extract relevant information from both structured and unstructured data to help optimize and scale up key processes.
- Generate our flagship, public-facing Economic Impact Studies globally
- Manage and prioritize multiple projects across different stakeholders
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to understand, validate, and frame measures of AWS investment and impact
- Present summaries of financial and business data insights to senior leadership
- Create concise and precise research report, communicating results to stakeholders


A day in the life
You will work closely with finance, infrastructure, energy, and tax teams, as well as AWS Public Policy, Public Relations, Marketing and Sales. You will gain great exposure to AWS' business as well as a cross-function collaboration environment. This role is ideal for someone with curiosity, attention to detail, strong data skills, and interest in applying those skills in the area between finance and economics to drive high-impact business applications.

About the team
AWS Economic Development is a part of the AWS Global Public Policy organization and we work seamlessly with our public policy teammates, internal customers, and our colleagues from across Amazon to realize the AWS global expansion strategy and build collaborative partnerships in our communities.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Washington Dc, DC, USA
- 8 years of experience in economic or public policy research and development management to include experience using data and metrics to generate actionable insights that can be immediately leveraged by both public and private institutions
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Global professional experience in public policy, economics, and/or infrastructure
- MA degree in economics, finance, data operations, infrastructure, transportation, or related fields
- 10 years of experience in economic or other academic research and development management, including globally scaled, quantitative projects
- Proficiency in Excel, R, and Python
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Proven track record in producing high quality research in the infrastructure industry
- Demonstrated capacity to adapt to stakeholder needs and data constraints while insisting on the highest standards
- Academic publications related to economic impact, cloud computing, and/or infrastructure
- Self-starter with proven track record of successfully working with a wide array of functional groups across organizations and culture.
- Proficiency in Data Visualization/Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau, QuickSight
- Competency identifying and synthesizing information from a broad-range of public data-sources
- PhD degree in economics, finance, data operations, infrastructure, transportation, or related fields
