Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Child Care Director to lead and oversee our early childhood education programs. Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and implementation of age-appropriate curriculum focused on childhood development, social-emotional growth, and early learning standards.
- Supervise and support teaching staff by providing mentorship, conducting performance evaluations, and facilitating ongoing professional development.
- Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations, mandated reporting laws, health and safety standards, including pediatric first aid and CPR certifications.
- Manage daily operations of the childcare center, including enrollment, scheduling, and maintaining accurate records of attendance and child progress.
- Foster open communication with parents through regular updates, meetings, and addressing concerns promptly to build trusting relationships.
- Oversee classroom management strategies to promote positive behavior management and a nurturing environment for children with diverse needs.
- Coordinate staff training on topics such as special education accommodations, working with children with disabilities, infant care, toddler care, and classroom management techniques.
Experience
- Proven experience working with young children in daycare centers or preschool settings, including classroom experience in early childhood education or childhood development instruction.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in managing a team of educators or childcare providers within a licensed facility.
- Knowledge of child supervision best practices, behavior management strategies, and developmental milestones for infants through preschool-aged children.
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child safety and welfare.
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is highly desirable.
- Certification in first aid and CPR (including pediatric first aid) is required; ongoing training preferred.
- Prior nannying or babysitting experience involving infants and toddlers is considered an asset.
