Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Spanish speaking Caregivers with a CMT license (certified medication technician) to provide essential support to individuals in their homes. As a Caregiver, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by assisting with daily activities and ensuring their well-being. This position requires a commitment to patient care and adherence to HIPAA regulations. Must be willing to begin work immediately!
Position available in the following counties: Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Baltimore City, Harford, Howard, Charles, Montgomery, Prince George, Carroll, Cecil, Fredrick
Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor for side effects or reactions.
- Ensure that medications are stored properly and securely.
- Keep accurate records of medication administration and client responses.
- Communicate with healthcare providers and the care team regarding any changes in clients' conditions or medication needs.
- Help clients with mobility needs, including lifting and transferring them safely.
- Engage clients in social activities and encourage participation in recreational programs.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by adhering to hygiene standards.
- Assist with medication reminders as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Support clients with dementia care by utilizing appropriate communication techniques and activities tailored to their needs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be fluent in speaking Spanish.
- Must have a valid CPR/First Aid certificate.
- CMT certification in Maryland is a plus.
- Prior experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Previous experience in caregiving or related fields such as social work or patient care is preferred.
- Knowledge of dementia care practices is a plus.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Certification or training in caregiving or related fields is advantageous but not required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry medications and equipment as necessary.
