Duties
- Operate the cash register efficiently, handling all retail sales transactions accurately and swiftly.
- Manage cash drawer handling with precision, ensuring correct cash handling and balancing at shift end.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product information.
- Conduct product demos when needed to showcase features and benefits of various items, encouraging customer engagement.
- Upsell relevant products and accessories to maximize sales opportunities while maintaining a friendly approach.
- Assist in stocking shelves, merchandising displays, and maintaining clean, organized checkout areas.
- Demonstrate strong phone etiquette when answering inquiries or directing calls to appropriate departments.
- Support store operations by participating in inventory counts and ensuring retail store product knowledge is up-to-date.
- Engage in retail sales activities with enthusiasm, promoting store promotions and loyalty programs to enhance customer satisfaction.
Experience
- Prior experience in retail sales or cashiering roles is preferred, especially within grocery or general merchandise stores.
- Familiarity with POS (Point of Sale) systems and cash register operations is highly desirable.
- Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership in guiding team members during busy periods.
- Strong communication skills are essential for providing clear information and excellent customer interactions.
- Bilingual abilities are advantageous for serving diverse customer bases effectively.
- Basic math skills are necessary for accurate cash handling, balancing registers, and processing transactions efficiently.
