GCP Architect

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced GCP Architect to design, implement, and govern scalable, secure, and high-availability cloud solutions on Google Cloud Platform. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership, define cloud architecture standards, and collaborate with engineering, security, and business teams to drive cloud adoption and modernization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

•           Design and architect end-to-end GCP solutions including compute, networking, storage, and data services.

•           Define cloud architecture standards, best practices, and governance models.

•           Lead cloud migration and modernization initiatives from on-premises or other clouds to GCP.

•           Architect high-availability, disaster recovery, and fault-tolerant solutions.

•           Implement security and identity solutions using IAM, VPC Service Controls, KMS, DLP, and security best practices.

•           Design and manage network architectures including VPCs, subnets, firewall rules, load balancing, and hybrid connectivity.

•           Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).

•           Provide guidance on Kubernetes (GKE), containerized workloads, and cloud-native services.

•           Optimize cloud costs, performance, and scalability using GCP monitoring and logging tools.

•           Review and approve solution designs, conduct architecture reviews, and mentor engineering teams.

•           Act as a technical advisor to stakeholders, translating business requirements into cloud solutions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

•           8 years of IT experience with 5 years in cloud architecture roles.

•           Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform services (GCE, GKE, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions).

•           Deep understanding of GCP networking, security, and IAM.

•           Experience with Terraform or other IaC tools.

•           Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation.

•           Experience designing hybrid and multi-cloud architectures.

•           Strong understanding of Linux, scripting (Bash/Python), and system administration.

•           Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to Have

•           GCP certifications (Professional Cloud Architect, Professional DevOps Engineer).

•           Experience with financial services, healthcare, or regulated industries.

•           Exposure to data platforms (BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc).

•           Experience with security and compliance frameworks (ISO, SOC2, PCI, HIPAA).
