As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will play a key role in supporting clients throughout their treatment journey. Responsibilities include assisting with admissions, coordinating transportation, answering client questions, and helping individuals adjust to daily program routines. You will also monitor client wellbeing and promptly report any changes in physical or mental status to the clinical team—ensuring safety is always the top priority.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 year of experience in the mental health field or related college coursework (preferred)
- Strong commitment to maintaining a safe environment
- Professional demeanor and strong work ethic
- Valid Drivers License
- Build and maintain positive, professional relationships with clients
- Assist with admissions, orientations, and intake processes
- Maintain clear and consistent communication during client admissions
- Complete accurate and timely shift reports and checklists
- Facilitate orientation groups and support client engagement
- De-escalate situations and assist clients experiencing challenges, including those leaving treatment AMA/ACA
- Maintain awareness of client whereabouts through regular headcounts
- Monitor family visits to ensure safety and compliance
- Support medical staff during medication pass (if applicable)
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all facilities and common areas
- Participate in scheduled staff meetings and trainings
- Exercise sound judgment and seek support when needed
- Protect client confidentiality in compliance with all federal, state, and organizational privacy standards
