PRIMARY PURPOSE:
To manage and supervise the operation of the district print shop in order to satisfy the needs of the customers within the
constraints of the department resources.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education/Certification
High School diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills
Working knowledge of office duplicating processes and machines including high-speed digital copiers, computers,
and related peripherals and finishing equipment
Knowledge of practices, procedures, techniques and equipment used in duplicating and high speed photocopying
Must be efficient, effective competent, capable, practical and proficient in performance of duties and responsibilities
Effective communication skills (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
Ability to prioritize
Basic math skills
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Suite
Attention to fine details
Ability to meet deadlines
Work Conditions
Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals including high- speed digital copiers, computers, and related peripherals and finishing equipment
Posture: Prolonged sitting and/or standing, occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions including prolonged keyboarding & use of mouse; occasional reaching
Lifting: Frequent lifting and carrying (up to 50 pounds)
Environment: Work with frequent interruptions and changes in task(s); maintain professional demeanor under stress
Regular attendance is an essential function.
Minimum Experience
Five years of successful experience as a printer in a commercial or in-plant shop preferred.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Develops printing schedules and sets priorities.
- Determines the most cost effective method of reproduction.
- Confers with customer to determine best method to accomplish the printing task.
- Duplicates, copies or prints district forms.
- Maintains up-to-date records including job tickets, copies of tasks, volume of each department, etc. to all for accurate billing.
- Places orders for stock and supplies and maintains a cost effective but reasonable amount.
- Responsible for safety standard in the print shop.
- Quality checks work for accuracy and attractiveness in layout and obtains final approval of work prior to run.
- Provides training for employees.
- Keeps accurate inventory of stock forms and schedules print runs as needed.
- Prices and extends all printing shop requisitions.
- Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned.
