Responsibilities
- Safely operate box trucks, personal vehicles, or other delivery vehicles in compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and traffic laws
- Load, unload, and secure goods using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts when necessary
- Execute delivery routes efficiently while adhering to scheduled timelines and traffic regulations
- Provide excellent customer service by ensuring accurate deliveries and addressing customer inquiries professionally
- Assist with warehouse operations including inventory management, manual handling, and moving items within the facility
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation using mobile devices or handheld scanners
- Follow safe lifting practices during all manual handling tasks involving heavy or bulky items
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier, preferably with non-CDL vehicles such as box trucks or personal vehicles
- Strong knowledge of route driving, traffic regulations, and safe driving practices
- Experience with warehouse operations, material handling equipment operation (pallet jacks, forklifts), and moving heavy loads
- Ability to lift heavy items safely while following manual lifting practices and workplace weight handling standards
- Excellent customer service skills with clear communication abilities
- Familiarity with DOT regulations related to commercial vehicle operation and weight limits in the workplace
- Competence in using mobile devices for route navigation, delivery tracking, and documentation
