SCOPE: Performs predetermined repetitive operations in the assembly of right-angle gear drives.
EDUCATION/TRAINING: High School Diploma or GED. Preferred one to two years Trade School or experience in industrial machining.
SECIAL SKILLS: Lathe work, grinding, drilling, fitting and pressing operation, ability to read and use micrometers, and gauges; knowledge of parts, must work well with others.

Responsibilities
- Check drive card for special instructions.
- Check gear serial numbers, model and ratio to ensure they meet drive card specifications.
- Check ground surfaces on shafts for damage to critical areas.
- Assemble and set bearings and gears to specifications, mounting distances and backlash.
- Check position of oil line to spiral bevel gears.
- Inspect and ensure assembly is complete.
- Documentation – gear MD’s, spacer lengths, gear serial numbers, bearing settings, heat numbers (if applicable) are recorded onto drive card.
- Paperwork forwarded and filed as necessary.
