Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, supporting our medical staff, and ensuring a smooth clinical experience. This role is a vital part of our healthcare team, and we are looking for a dedicated individual to join us in our mission to deliver high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:

- Assist healthcare providers with routine medical procedures, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and performing phlebotomy duties as needed.
- Maintain accurate and organized patient records, including medical histories, medication lists, and test results.
- Perform administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, answering patient inquiries, and processing insurance claims.
- Support the clinical team in providing patient care, including assisting with procedures in the OR and assisting with patient care in hospital settings, including Level I Trauma Centers.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of physiology and geriatric care, ensuring that patients receive the highest level of care.
- Collaborate with medical providers to provide urgent care and support patients with various medical conditions.
- Assist with inpatient and outpatient care, including conducting patient assessments and administering medications.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff, adhering to infection control policies and procedures.

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in medical assisting or a related field preferred.
- Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or willingness to obtain certification within a specific timeframe.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, with a focus on geriatric and hospital medicine.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a focus on patient care and communication.
- Ability to take vital signs and perform other clinical duties, including phlebotomy and inhaled medications.
- Experience working in an urgent care or hospital setting, with a focus on patient care and hospital medicine.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMRs) and coding systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and medical providers.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, PRN

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
