Custodian Duties
General day to day
- Empty and reline waste receptacles; remove trash to the dumpster.
- Wash, clean, and disinfect the dispensing area of water fountains, classroom sinks, coolers and wash metal housings.
- Clean all glass doors and windows
- Vacuum carpeted areas
- Spot clean spills and smudges caused during the day.
- Clean lobby entrances.
- Spot clean walls and door trim.
- Clean mats and return to proper location
- Clean and disinfect cafeteria tables.
- Lock all classrooms after cleaning.
- Clean and disinfect restroom floors.
- Clean mirrors.
- Wash and disinfect all sinks, toilets, and urinals.
- Hand dust, clean and disinfect all partitions; tops of tile ledges; paper towel and sanitary napkin dispensers.
- Clean and fill toilet tissue, hand soap, and hand towel dispensers.
- Remove fingerprints, smudges, and scuff marks from vertical and horizontal surfaces within reach, including, but may not be limited to, doors, walls, glass partitions, and windowsills.
- Machine scrub cafeteria floor.
- Spray buff hard-surface flooring in public areas.
- Spot clean carpets with machines (as needed).
As needed
- Replace interior light bulbs as needed at both campuses
- Replace Ceiling tiles as needed
- Replace Carpet tiles as needed
- Clean return air vents in hallways, classrooms, and gym as needed.
- Wash coils in A/C units with water hose at the beginning of the warm season
- Strip and wax gym and hallway floors twice per year (Summer and Christmas break)
- Clean foyer carpets and classrooms carpets and rugs annually during Summer break. (Spot clean throughout the school year).
- Keep Janitorial closets clean and straightened for health inspections.
- Communicate with campus director when supplies are needed
- Tighten toilet seats
- Wash hallway walls as needed throughout the year (especially during summer break)
Salary : $17 - $20
