Job Summary
MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNICIANS CONDUCT VARIETY OF DIAGNOSTIC TESTS AND PROCEDURES IN A MEDICAL LABORATORY SETTING. THEY PERFORM MICROSCOPIC, BACTERIOLOGICAL, HEMATOLOGICAL, IMMUNOLOGIC AND CHEMICAL ANALYSES ON SAMPLES FROM TISSUE, BLOOD, URINE, STOOL, SYNOVIAL FLUID AND SEMEN.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct microscopic, bacteriological, hematological, immunologic and chemical diagnostic tests and analyses on samples
- Analyze data and results to determine accurate diagnoses or test outcomes
- Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment, instruments and supplies
- Follow established protocols for handling and storing biological samples
- Collaborate with medical professionals to provide accurate test results and support patient care
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or equivalent
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in testing and reporting
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
