Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Technician with ACI (American Concrete Institute) certification to join our dynamic team.
The Field Technician will perform field inspections at sites throughout the New York Metro region and materials testing in accordance with project specifications, applicable codes, and industry standards. This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy hands-on work, problem-solving in the field, and collaborating with construction teams to ensure safety, quality, and compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS
· ACI Concrete Field – American Concrete Institute (ACI) Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I certified
- OSHA 30 and Nuclear Gauge Safety Certification (or ability to obtain within a defined onboarding period); additional site-safety credentials as required.
- One or more material testing certifications required for independent work (e.g., soils, concrete, asphalt); additional certifications required for advancement.
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical or vocational training is a plus.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel between job sites.
- Strong attention to detail, basic math skills, and clear written and verbal communication.
KEY RESPONSABILITIES
- Conduct field materials testing, including concrete, soil, asphalt, masonry, and steel.
- Document daily inspection reports, test results, and project communications in accordance with company procedures.
- Complete all daily field reports and documentation, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with Amaracon’ s reporting standards. This is a critical and non-negotiable responsibility of the role.
- Maintain equipment, tools, and field instruments in proper working conditions.
- Follow all required safety protocols and site-specific procedures (e.g., OSHA 30, Nuclear Gauge Safety) at all times.
- Identify and escalate non-conforming test results or field conditions in a timely manner.
- Obtain and maintain material testing certifications across an expanding range of disciplines as experience grows.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Work is performed primarily outdoors on active construction sites in varying weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift and carry testing equipment and materials (typically up to 50 lbs.).
- Requires standing, walking, bending, and kneeling for extended periods; occasional work at heights or in confined areas.
- Travel between multiple job sites within a workday may be required.
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
