Job Summary:
The Quality Manager is responsible for leading our quality assurance and control initiatives across all manufacturing operations. In this pivotal role, you will champion the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality systems to ensure our products meet the highest standards of safety, compliance, and excellence. Their day-to-day work involves the enforcement of quality standards and providing the means to support the production of a quality product for the customer, as well as supervising a team of quality control inspectors.
Essential Duties:
- Documenting and reporting product quality levels
- Track and maintain the Cost of Quality (COQ) metrics
- Conduct meetings and make presentations when necessary
- Developing and implementing standards for inspection
- Developing a workflow for product inspection
- Communicating with other team members and departments to solve problems
- Perform and document a Root Cause Analysis with controls
- Following up with the appropriate channels when mistakes are found
- Tracking the implementation and progress of Engineering Change Notice’s (ECN)
- Interact with vendors to identify and correct issues
- Create Traveler & Work Instruction documentation required for production
- Manage the inventory of defective parts on site and returned to vendors
- Documenting and implementing corrective actions
- First Article Inspections
- Continuous improvement and cost savings
Experience / Experience Desired:
- BS/BA degree preferred but may substitute relevant experience in lieu of degree
- 7 years of quality related experience
- Supervisory/management experience
- Self-motivated and disciplined team player
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate business needs, think proactively and respond appropriately
- Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing experience
- Experience with developing/documenting procedures.
- Use of Quality Engineering methods in inspection.
Specific Knowledge / Skills:
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite (Example: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
- Knowledge of measurement and testing equipment (Example: Calipers, Bore Gauges, Height Gauge, etc.)
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Knowledge of JD Edwards a plus
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a manufacturing environment
