Job Overview
Amanecer Community Counseling Center is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Counselor or Master Social Worker to provide comprehensive mental health services within our healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will have experience in clinical counseling, crisis intervention, and a strong understanding of behavioral health principles. This role involves working with diverse populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and seniors, to promote mental well-being and support recovery. The counselor will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based therapies in both individual and group settings. Experience with telehealth platforms and familiarity with medical documentation and HIPAA regulations are highly valued. Amanecer Community Counseling Center provides FREE SUPERVISION and FREE CEU'S.
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine mental health needs using diagnostic tools aligned with ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans utilizing modalities such as psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, behavior management, and art therapy.
- Provide individual, and family counseling sessions addressing issues such as trauma, grief, addiction, PTSD, developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, gender issues, and chronic pain management.
- Engage in crisis intervention and crisis management to ensure patient safety during acute episodes.
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including social workers, medical staff, educators, behavior management specialists, wraparound facilitators, and case managers, to coordinate comprehensive care.
- Participate in clinical research projects or data collection efforts aimed at improving treatment outcomes.
- Stay current with medical terminology relevant to behavioral health and utilize ICD coding for documentation purposes.
- Provide telehealth services when appropriate to expand access to care.
Responsibilities:
- Establish open lines of communication for individuals with mental or emotional issues
- Offer assistance to individuals and families with a variety of mental health issues
- Provide services using CBT, DBT, RET and/or other proven modalities
- Implement and review treatment plans and safety plans
- Collaborate with additional treatment providers and placement agencies
- Assist with program's target goals for client outcomes in accordance with quality client care and agency goals
- Ensure all documentation is completed in a timely manner
Qualifications:
- Must have successfully completed Master's level education in the field of counseling, social work, psychology, human services from an accredited university.
- Have successfully completed or is in the process of taking the National Counselor Examination or Association of Social Work Board Examination.
- Previous experience in mental health counseling or other related fields would be a plus but not necessary
- Must be able to work with children, adolescents and adults
- Familiarity with community mental health resources
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to build rapport with clients
- Strong teamwork qualities
- Must be able to use personal transportation to carry out work duties
- Must be able to work flexible hours (Monday - Friday)

Pay: $52,000.00 - $56,000.00 per year
