What are the responsibilities and job description for the Digital Design and Imaging Specialist position at Amanda Uprichard?
About the Company
AMANDA UPRICHARD, a NYC based contemporary fashion brand is looking for a full-time experienced Digital Designer to join our creative team. We are based in the heart of the garment center in NYC. Amanda Uprichard is sold on our website, as well as the best contemporary websites such as Shopbop, Revolve, and department and specialty stores nationwide. We are primarily a dress brand and are always looking to design dresses to make a woman feel comfortable, attractive, and confident with a sense of ease.
About the Role
We're looking for a designer to support our in-house design and production team with product imagery — filling gaps in our visual workflow using advanced digital imaging tools and techniques, without requiring a full photo shoot for every need.
You'll work closely with design, production, and marketing to turn existing product photography, flat images, or reference shots into polished, usable assets — including ghost mannequin/invisible mannequin renders, on-figure to off-figure conversions, and other digital imaging work that supports tech packs, e-commerce, and internal presentations
.
What You'll Do
- Create and retouch product imagery using advanced digital design and imaging softwa
- reCreate ghost mannequin / invisible mannequin shots from on-figure photography or flat product images
- Support the design team with visual assets for tech packs, including color/fabric renders, detail close-ups, and construction call-outs.
- Clean up, composite, and enhance photography from shoots to match brand standards
- Generate supplementary product imagery when a full photo shoot isn't feasible or timelines are tight
- Maintain consistent quality, color accuracy, and file organization across all assets
- Collaborate with the creative and merchandising teams to understand product details and translate them accurately into visuals
- Stay current on emerging digital imaging tools and techniques, and recommend new workflows as they develop.
What We're Looking For
- Strong Photoshop and Illustrator skills, with experience in advanced retouching and image compositing
- Familiarity with modern generative/AI-assisted imaging tools is a plus, not a requirement — we care more about the output than the method
- Experience creating ghost mannequin or product-only images from on-figure or flat imagery
- Comfort working with fashion/apparel product details — fit, fabric, construction — enough to render accurate, believable results
- An eye for photorealism and consistency — final images need to hold up next to real photography
- Ability to work efficiently across a high volume of SKUs/styles
- Bonus: experience with tech pack software or PLM systems, familiarity with product naming/folder conventions
Portfolio Requirement
Please include before/after examples of your imaging/retouching work, especially any ghost mannequin conversions or product image generation from source photography.
Portfolio must be included with your application.
