Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident’s personal assistance devices.
- Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting any changes to healthcare professionals promptly.
- Provide medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans to ensure safety and compliance.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning and preparation to meet individual dietary needs.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing regular cleaning duties in accordance with health standards.
- Support residents during community outings or social activities to promote engagement and socialization.
- Document care activities accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations and facility policies while respecting residents’ privacy.
Skills
- Proven experience in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, and working with individuals with autism or disabilities.
- Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, HIPAA compliance training, and medication administration are highly preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts and handle physical tasks required for resident support.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams, residents, families, and social workers.
- Familiarity with care plans development and implementation tailored to individual needs.
