Maintenance Helper - Loveland, CO

The Amalgamated Sugar Company is seeking Maintenance Helper that will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks within the warehouse and the surrounding property. This position will report to the Maintenance Leadsman and will include a variety of general labor tasks as well as routine maintenance at the facility.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Responsible for maintenance of warehouse equipment, providing both preventative maintenance programs and all necessary repairs. Ensures that the warehouse personnel have safe, efficient equipment to perform the distribution functions.

• Must perform a variety of light maintenance tasks.

• Be able to communicate technical issues in understandable method both orally and in writing.

• Read and comprehend written instructions including safety procedures, safety signs, schedules, Material Safety Data Sheets, blueprints, diagrams, manufacturing standards and procedures.

• Provide your own set or hand tools (up to 1 1/8-inch sockets and end wrenches) and know how to use them.

• Competent with a stick welder and acetylene oxygen-cutting torch.

• Perform lockout and tag out procedures.

• Use hand tools such as hammers, wrenches, pry bars and other tools.

• Perform repairs and maintenance on a variety of equipment.

• Maintain a safe working environment by following all the safety rules and procedures including the effective use of all safety devices and equipment.

• Required to do sugar warehouse duties as needed.

• Use hand tools and operate valves for systems operation and maintenance.

• Perform general cleaning operations.

• Maintain good housekeeping and cleanliness standards.

• Operate all warehouse equipment.

• Performs other related duties as required.

• Must possess a valid driver’s license before employment and maintain licensure for the duration of employment in this position.
