Position Summary

We are seeking a Factory Lab Manager to lead our laboratory operations and drive process improvement across one or more facilities. This role is responsible for material balancing and performance reporting, budget oversight, crew selection and training, and supporting operational excellence through data-driven testing and analysis. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with strong technical expertise and a passion for innovation. This position will report directly to the Technical Services Director.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage factory lab operations, ensuring accurate process material balancing and performance reporting.
• Prepare and manage departmental budgets, aligning with company goals and cost control measures.
• Select, train, and supervise salaried and hourly lab personnel working rotating 12-hour shifts in a 24/7 environment.
• Investigate and support process improvement initiatives in collaboration with the Operating Department.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and company policies in coordination with the Safety Department.
• Support training and development of technical and non-technical staff in factory operations and analytics.
• Maintain high standards of quality and safety across all lab activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in laboratory or production operations.
• 3–5 years of experience in personnel and/or project management.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Working knowledge of safety practices and ability to interpret safety information and placards.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in food manufacturing or industrial production environments.
• Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (e.g., JDE), MS Office, and Outlook.
