The Amalgamated Nursery School (ANS) is a community parent cooperative school offering free 2K, 3K and Pre-K for All, funded by the NYC Department of Education, in a strong community-based setting. Established in 1928 and located in the Northwest Bronx, ANS has served the Amalgamated Park Reservoir Cooperatives and the surrounding community for almost 100 years.
Job Overview
We are seeking a pool of kind, dynamic and reliable substitute preschool teachers for our nursery school in the heart of Van Cortlandt Village in The Bronx.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is highly preferred
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to maintain order and foster positive behavior
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with staff and children.
- Warm, supportive, and tends to the social & emotional needs of the children.
- Must be willing to undergo PETS fingerprint clearance through NYC Public Schools and background check clearance through NYC Department of Health.
- Student teachers, college students, and study-plan teacher candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
Hours
- Schedule is per-diem and on an as needed basis.
- School hours are 9:00am-3:20pm
Pay: $20.00 per hour
