Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning of industrial areas, including floors, workstations, restrooms, break rooms, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers.
- Handle and safely apply chemical agents for cleaning, sanitation, and maintenance tasks following chemical handling safety procedures.
- Operate various cleaning tools and machinery efficiently while adhering to safety protocols to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling of supplies, equipment, and waste materials in accordance with safe lifting practices.
- Maintain cleanliness of floors through buffing, polishing, and floor care techniques to ensure a professional appearance.
- Restock supplies such as paper products, cleaning agents, and safety materials in designated areas.
- Assist with general facilities maintenance tasks including minor repairs or reporting issues requiring specialized attention.
- Follow all safety protocols during cleaning activities to ensure a hazard-free environment for yourself and others.
- Support sanitation efforts by disinfecting surfaces regularly to promote health and hygiene standards.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of cleaning schedules and special projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven janitorial or custodial experience in an industrial or commercial setting preferred.
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures, sanitation standards, and the proper handling of chemical agents.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, and other custodial tools safely and effectively.
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting, manual handling, standing for extended periods, and performing repetitive tasks.
