What We’re Looking For:

• A Heart for Service: A passion for helping others and making a difference.
• Experience: preferred but not required: at least 1 year of previous caregiving experience
• Trust & Reliability: Ability to pass a background check and or meet South Dakota state hiring requirements.
• Dependability: Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance. Do not apply if you don't have a driver's license, a car, and car insurance.

Duties

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
• Monitor patients’ health by observing vital signs, managing medication administration, and reporting changes to healthcare professionals.
• Support residents with mobility and transfers using proper patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques.
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing personal spaces.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance mental well-being and reduce feelings of isolation.
• Document care plans, patient observations, and communication notes accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities, developmental or intellectual disabilities support, or senior care is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer’s care), memory care, hospice care, and home health practices.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate patient transfer equipment like Hoyer lifts
• Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and coordination with healthcare teams.
• Experience working with individuals with autism or neurodevelopmental disorders is advantageous.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for client outings or appointments are preferred.
