Role Description
We are hiring our Founding Engineer to help build the Ama operating system from the ground up. You will work directly with the CEO and founding team, shipping product end-to-end, from architecture to production. You will architect the agentic platform that turns physical-world compliance from manual diligence into automated, defensible output, starting with environmental reporting.
As we scale the team, this role has a path to CTO / Head of Engineering if there is a clear fit.
Compensation & Benefits
- Full-time, in-person at our Brooklyn office
- $150,000-$165,000 base performance bonus meaningful early-stage equity
- Paid time off sick days benefits
- Expected Start Date is ASAP
Qualifications
• 2-5 yrs of experience in software engineering or forward-deployed engineering role.
• You ship product end-to-end, ideally at a venture-backed startup or leading tech company.
• Based in NYC or willing to relocate.
• AI Coding: Fluent with agentic coding (Claude Code, Codex); you already build with them daily.
• Owner Mentality: you ship proactively and fix what is off when you notice it.
• Domain Ownership: Curious about environmental compliance and willing to learn it deeply.
• Mindset: Startups are hard and unpredictable. You find joy in taking on big challenges.
