Position Overview
The General Manager / Beverage Director at Ama is responsible for overseeing all food and beverage for the ground floor restaurant, in-room dining, and lobby services. This role ensures high-quality products and service while maintaining profitable F&B operations. The position also leads the beverage program, curating wine and cocktail offerings that reflect Ama’s brand and elevate the guest experience. The GM/BD is responsible for building a strong team, maintaining operational excellence, and representing the restaurant as a leader in the community.
Qualification Standards
Education & Experience:
- At least 6 years of progressive experience in food & beverage operations, hospitality, or a related field; or a 4-year college degree with at least 3 years of related experience; or a 2-year college degree with 4 or more years of related experience.
- Proficiency in Windows, spreadsheets, and word processing applications. Knowledge of F&B preparation techniques, health department regulations, liquor laws, and beverage program management.
Physical Requirements:
- Long hours may be required.
- Medium work: lifting or moving up to 50 pounds occasionally, and/or 20 pounds frequently.

Duties & Functions
Restaurant Operations & Leadership:
- Oversee daily operations of the ground floor restaurant, in-room dining, and lobby services.
- Manage scheduling, payroll, and team performance reviews.
- Ensure smooth coordination between kitchen, service, and administrative teams.
- Build and maintain a strong, positive team culture, fostering development and retention.
- Represent Ama to guests, industry partners, and the community, ensuring the restaurant’s brand and standards are upheld.
Beverage Program Leadership:
- Curate and maintain the wine list and cocktail menu to align with Ama’s vision and brand.
- Train and supervise beverage staff to ensure high-quality service and product knowledge.
- Monitor beverage inventory, ordering, and cost control.
Financial & Compliance Oversight:
- Manage profitable F&B operations, monitoring costs, revenue, and staffing needs.
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and liquor regulations.
Guest Experience & Quality Assurance:
- Deliver exceptional, personalized service to every guest, with a focus on creating memorable dining experiences.
- Maintain high standards of food, beverage, and service quality.
- Respond to guest feedback and complaints in a professional and timely manner. Ensure SOPs are followed in all operational areas and participate in audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
Team Development & Training:
- Recruit, train, and mentor staff to meet service and operational standards.
- Conduct ongoing training in service, hospitality, and beverage knowledge. Recognize and celebrate team milestones and achievements.

Your total compensation package includes:
Base Salary: $95,000.00 annually
Bonus Structure: Up to 5% annual performance bonus, based on achieving key financial and operational goals.
