Analytical Chemist

AM Testing & Services is excited to announce an immediate opportunity for an experienced Analytical Chemist at our laboratory facility in Punta Gorda, Florida. This is a hands-on role ideal for a motivated individual looking to grow with a fast-paced, quality-driven testing laboratory.

Pay: competitive, negotiable based on experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate, maintain, and calibrate a wide range of analytical instrumentation, including:

*   ICP/OES, ICP/MS

* HPLC/MSMS

*   GC/MS

*   UV/VIS Spectrophotometry

·        Perform sample preparation, extraction, digestion, and analysis on both routine and complex matrices.

·        Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and instrumentation operation.

·        Review and validate analytical results for accuracy and compliance with internal and external quality standards.

·        Support and advise clients and customer service teams with technical information and analytical results.

·        Assist in maintaining and advancing our laboratory’s ISO 17025 accreditation through A2LA.

·        Work collaboratively within a small, fast-paced team environment with a focus on quality, efficiency, and innovation.

·        Contribute to expanding the laboratory’s scope by introducing new analytical methods and technologies.

Requirements:

·        Master's Degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field preferred

·        2–5 years of hands-on laboratory experience is required

·        Strong working knowledge and experience with at least some of the following instrumentation:

*   ICP/OES, ICP/MS

*   GC/MS, HPLC/MSMS

*   UV/VIS

·        Ability to maintain and troubleshoot analytical instruments

·        Excellent documentation and organizational skills

·        Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality control

·        Familiarity with ISO 17025 and A2LA quality systems

·        Effective verbal and written communication skills

·        Comfortable working in a collaborative, team-oriented lab setting

Preferred Skills:

·        Experience using instrument-specific software such as:

*    Agilent ChemStation and MassHunter

*    PerkinElmer WinLab, Syngistix, and Spectrum

·        Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

·        Experience introducing new testing methodologies or expanding lab capabilities
