Electrical Quality Assurance Representative (QAR)
Location: Manassas, VA
Join our team and play a critical role in the construction of a state-of-the-art semiconductor manufacturing facility in Manassas, Virginia. We are seeking an experienced Electrical Quality Assurance Representative (QAR) to ensure all electrical installations meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance throughout the construction lifecycle.
This position is ideal for a seasoned electrical professional with experience in industrial, mission-critical, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or advanced manufacturing construction who is passionate about delivering quality workmanship and ensuring projects are built right the first time.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform field inspections of electrical installations to verify compliance with project drawings, specifications, approved submittals, and applicable codes.
- Inspect conduit systems, cable tray, cable installations, switchgear, switchboards, transformers, MCCs, UPS systems, generators, grounding and bonding systems, fire alarm, and low-voltage installations.
- Verify electrical work throughout all phases of construction to ensure quality requirements are met before system turnover.
- Witness and document electrical testing, including insulation resistance (Megger), continuity, torque verification, grounding, and functional testing.
- Review contractor Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), quality checklists, test reports, commissioning documentation, and turnover packages.
- Identify, document, and track deficiencies, punch list items, and non-conformance reports (NCRs) through successful resolution.
- Verify installed materials conform to approved submittals and project specifications.
- Coordinate with contractors, engineering teams, commissioning personnel, and owner representatives to resolve quality concerns.
- Participate in system walkdowns, pre-functional inspections, commissioning activities, and final turnover.
- Maintain accurate inspection reports, daily documentation, and quality records.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement across the project.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of electrical construction experience in industrial, manufacturing, mission-critical, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, or similar complex construction environments.
- Strong understanding of electrical installation methods, construction sequencing, and quality inspection processes.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, specifications, and submittals.
- Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and industry best practices.
- Experience with electrical testing, commissioning, and system turnover.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic document management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience on semiconductor manufacturing, cleanroom, data center, pharmaceutical, or other highly technical construction projects.
- Previous experience in electrical quality assurance or quality control.
- Familiarity with commissioning processes and owner turnover requirements.
- Experience working with EPC contractors and owner quality programs.
- Journeyman Electrician, Master Electrician, or NCCER Electrical certification strongly preferred.
- OSHA 30, NFPA 70E, or additional quality-related certifications are a plus.
