What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll Administrator position at AM-1 Roofing Inc.?
AM-1 Roofing is a family owned business that has been serving Central Oregon for over 30 Years. We have built a solid reputation with renovating, repair, and installation of all types of roofing, siding, gutters, steel buildings, and specialty sheet metal. We are searching for an experienced payroll admin to join our team!
Responsibilities:
- Complete payroll process from start to finish (Includes a combination of salary, hourly, and piece rate pay)
- Review and validate payroll data, including hours worked, deductions, and adjustments
- Maintain and update employee payroll records
- Timely processing of wage garnishments, child support, retirement contributions, etc.
- Report and make payments for federal and state payroll taxes
- Process certified payroll reports
- Maintain compliance with all payroll laws and workers compensation laws
- Process year end W2's and tax forms
- Prepare unemployment correspondence if needed.
- Print monthly job bonus sheets and work with managers to review costs and profit
- Support Finance with payroll-related reconciliations and reporting.
- Take phone calls and assist in daily office operation
Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of payroll experience
- Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices.
- Strong computer skills
- Demonstrate ability to learn and navigate new systems, troubleshoot data and system issues, and adapt to changes in technology and payroll processes.
- Ability to manage recurring, deadline-driven responsibilities independently.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- A supportive leadership style and clear, friendly communication with both your team and clients
