ALX Community seeks an energetic, hard-working, and sociable Community Specialist for one of our beautiful coworking locations in Old Town Alexandria. This position is the heartbeat of Alexandria— responsible for fostering a welcoming and focused work environment for members and guests, organizing and executing all types of meetings, all while working for Old Town’s best-shared coworking community.

You also have an uncanny ability to multitask, yet still perform every assignment with immaculate precision. Nothing can get past you, and you’re sure to follow up on every task to make sure it’s completed right and on time. From introducing the space to new guests to overseeing the needs of over 600 unique members, the Community Specialist is a self-disciplined problem-solver who is eager to go the extra mile for the members and guests.
From the warmth you exude as you build relationships with our members to the effectiveness you demonstrate when managing multiple activities at once, it all combines to ensure you always embody the ALX culture of learning, growing, and giving...and have tons of fun in the process!
What will you be doing?
- Blow the minds of every member and guest with your hospitality
- Keep our beautiful community spotless
- Create regular events to dazzle and engage members
- Help us show off our space by providing tours
- Conduct new member orientation
- Impress our members with your exceptional troubleshooting skills
- Create an inclusive environment that fosters collaboration and creativity - both internally and externally
- And other stuff is less flashy but needed, like inventorying, ordering and stocking supplies, answering phones, and mail/package management

What’s your background?
- Restaurant, Hospitality or Retail background strongly desired
- Experience in Sales
- Excellent computer skills
- Great verbal and written communication skills
- Technically and physically strong (able to pick up 20-30 pds)
- Marketing savvy
- BA or BS Degree
