Role Description:
The Community Specialist is an entry-level opportunity that is a full-time, on-site role based in Alexandria, VA, responsible for cultivating a welcoming, engaging, and professional environment for members and guests. In this role, the specialist greets and supports members, manages day-to-day operations in coworking and meeting spaces, and coordinates community events and programming that enhance member experience. The position involves responding to inquiries, assisting with bookings and conference center logistics, and ensuring shared spaces are well maintained and ready for use. The Community Specialist proactively builds relationships with members, gathers feedback, and collaborates with the team to improve services and create meaningful networking and collaboration opportunities. This role also includes administrative tasks, basic technology support for meetings, and clear communication of community guidelines and offerings.
Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal skills and communication abilities to build relationships and interact effectively with a diverse member base.
- Experience in community engagement and community management to design, support, and grow member-focused initiatives and events.
- Customer service skills and a hospitality mindset to provide responsive, professional support and ensure a high-quality member experience.
- Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple requests, manage bookings, and maintain shared spaces efficiently.
- Comfort with basic office technology and meeting tools, including calendars, booking systems, and audio-visual setups.
- Ability to work on-site full-time in Alexandria, VA, with flexibility to support occasional early morning, evening, or event hours.
- Previous experience in coworking, hospitality, events, or front-of-house operations is beneficial.
- Bachelor's Degree is needed until your experience is so strong; further education in communications, business, hospitality, or related fields is an advantage.
Compensation:
- This role pays between $38k to $45k plus monthly bonuses
