Duties
- Safely operate various delivery vehicles, including box trucks and
drivers, adhering strictly to traffic laws and safety protocols. - Load and unload packages efficiently using equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual lifting techniques to ensure proper handling of goods.
- Plan and follow optimized delivery routes to maximize efficiency and meet delivery deadlines.
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers professionally, answering questions, and ensuring their delivery experience exceeds expectations.
- Verify shipment contents against delivery manifests to ensure accuracy before dispatching or upon receipt.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including signatures, timestamps, and any delivery issues encountered.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs promptly to ensure safety standards are met.
- Assist with warehouse tasks such as inventory management, stock replenishment, and organizing goods for efficient dispatch.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate load & unload activities and troubleshoot logistical challenges.
- Follow all safety guidelines related to heavy lifting, moving items safely, and operating equipment like forklifts or pallet jacks.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier with a strong focus on customer service excellence.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driving license (CDL) preferred but not required.
- Experience operating box trucks or similar commercial vehicles with manual transmission is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to load & unload cargo efficiently using forklifts or pallet jacks; forklift certification is a plus.
- Physical ability to lift heavy items regularly and perform manual labor safely during moving or warehouse tasks.
- Familiarity with route driving software or GPS navigation tools for efficient route planning.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in record-keeping and shipment verification.
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with customers and team members.
