Franciscan Health Dyer is seeking a highly reliable Laboratory Assistant to join our team. This individual will be responsible for collecting blood specimens, performing laboratory office duties, and processing laboratory specimens.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collections of blood specimens
- Laboratory office duties: registering patients, entering data into the computer system, specimen accessioning, answering telephone calls, and processing paperwork
- Preparation of specimens for testing and/or sending to the central laboratory or reference laboratory
- Performing limited waived and specified non-waived POC tests as authorized by the Laboratory Director
- Acting as a driver and participating in on-call rotation (as required)
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Previous phlebotomy experience and/or training required
- Background in a medical laboratory and/or knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Valid driver's license and good driving record
- May be required to travel/drive to other locations
