Speech Therapist (ST) - Part Time

Job Summary:

Astoria Healthcare Center is seeking a qualified Speech Therapist to join our dynamic team of healthcare professionals. As a licensed Speech Language Pathologist, you will evaluate and treat patients with communication and swallowing disorders, and communicate with patients, clients, and team members to ensure effective care. Responsibilities:

• Evaluate patients based on physician referral/orders and develop effective treatment plans with functional, goal-based outcomes
• Treat patients according to treatment plans and maintain productivity standards
• Record clinical documentation according to accepted regulatory and professional guidelines
• Communicate with patients, clients, and team members to ensure effective care
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, patient care conferences, and other meetings as required
• Collaborate with other departments, attending physicians, and committee members
• Screen patients based on identified need and provide education to patients and families
• Assist with cleaning and maintenance of treatment areas and departments
• Participate in in-service training programs and continuing educational programs
  
  
  

Working Conditions:

• Works in well-lighted and ventilated office and therapy areas
• Sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and moving intermittently throughout the workday
• Subject to frequent interruptions and hostile and emotionally upset patients and family members
• Must be constantly alert for patient safety
  
  
  

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited college or university with a valid CA state license or eligibility to obtain license in state where services are provided
• Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday and lift patients, medical equipment, supplies, etc. up to 50 lbs.
• Must possess sight and hearing senses, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately
• Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with patients, clients, and team members
