The Deputy Project Manager will
- Serve as the primary point of contact with the Government for all contract-related matters when the Project Manager is unavailable.
- Maintain consistent on-site presence during the Government’s regular working hours.
- Provide leadership and direction to contract personnel to ensure all work is performed in compliance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS), schedule, and performance standards.
- Support the Project Manager in planning, organizing, and directing all contract operations, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to cost, schedule, and quality objectives.
- Assist in monitoring project performance metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure contractual compliance and customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate with corporate leadership and functional departments (e.g., HR, finance, logistics) to ensure smooth execution of operational activities.
- Promote a positive, collaborative, and productive work environment that aligns with company policies and customer expectations.
- Support preparation of project reports, documentation, and briefings for Government and corporate stakeholders.
- Assist in the identification and implementation of process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ensure proper staffing levels and continuity of operations in the absence of the Project Manager.
- Foster effective communication between all levels of staff and the Government to address issues promptly and maintain a high level of performance across all areas of the contract.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing or assisting in the management of a workforce providing services on a Base Operations Support (BOS) contract or similar large-scale, complex operation.
- Demonstrated experience in project management, operations management, or related leadership roles within a federal contracting environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
- Strong understanding of contract administration, project management principles, and performance-based service delivery.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment under minimal supervision.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Possession of a valid state driver’s license is required.
- Active TS/SCI clearance is required.
- The work environment may include exposure to loud noises, dust, and typical industrial conditions.
- Ability to motivate and lead diverse teams effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain strong working relationships with Government personnel, subcontractors, and team members.
