Production Team Member - Welder
As a welding team member, you will be responsible for assembling and welding the frame of our aluminum trailer units. You will collaborate with the welding team to meet safety, quality, and output goals, in support of the ATC company strategy. (Aluminum 3G/ 4G MIG welding; Structural welding)
Expected Job Functions/Accountabilities in the Role:
· Participates in on-the-job training as needed.
· Verifies quantity, quality, and specified length of extrusions used to weld frame components.
· Assembles frame components according to blueprint specifications and verifies accuracy prior to welding.
· Welds aluminum extrusions together while following safety protocols, utilizing required PPE, and completing work within specified time frame.
· Verifies that the product meets safety and quality specifications prior to releasing the trailer to the next station.
· Notifies team leader of any issues as they arise and collaborates with all team members to create solutions.
· Troubleshoots mechanical and technical issues and elevates to the appropriate party.
· Inspects the trailers to ensure high-quality, meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
· Performs some repairs, as needed, to ensure a high-quality product aligned to the customer’s expectations.
· Collaborates with team to identify areas for improvement in safety, quality, production, 5s, and lean manufacturing processes.
· Cross-training as needed, Establishing and achieving personal development goals.
Position Requirements:
· Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Welding experience and/or certification preferred.
· Experience: 1 years in a welding job and/or hands-on course preferred: Will train the right person who is mechanically inclined.
· Certifications: Not required, but welding or industrial technician certifications are a plus.
· Functional Skills: Basic mechanical skills or abilities; high attention to detail with an ability to read, understand, and apply procedures, specifications, and blueprints. Basic math skills are required. Ability to ready a tape measure. Critical thinking to solve issues independently or getting assistance to ensure accuracy is important. Ability to self-inspect work and make corrections prior to moving the trailer to the next point. Will teach in other higher skilled areas, as needed.
· Language Skills: Basic English reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.

Equipment Used:
· Aluminum 3G/ 4G MIG welding; Structural welding
· PPE: Long sleeves, composite/steel toe boot, safety glasses, earplugs, weld hood, welding gloves
· This role frequently uses basic hand tools and other equipment to operate and/or perform maintenance and/or repairs on equipment.
· This role routinely operates heavy equipment, machinery, or general facility equipment.
Pay/Salary: $20.00/hour to start, within 90 days of training increase to $35.00/hour
Reports To: Production Team Leader - Weld
Core Hours: 5:00am to 1:00pm
Typical Work Week: M-F; typically, 40 hours a week on average

Work Conditions:
· Ability to use hands and fingers to operate hand tools/equipment and machinery frequently
· Ability to operate keyboard and view computer screen occasionally
· Ability to write ideas/information in a logical flow occasionally
· Cognitive and reasoning ability to read, review and interpret work orders or processes on a frequent basis
· Ability to read and respond due to nature of the work on a frequent basis
· Ability to listen to and collaborate with others, problem-solve, and respond frequently
· Ability to stand, sit, walk, climb, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, squat, twist, push, pull, and carry items frequently
· Lifting up to 50 lbs. sporadically
· This position is regularly exposed to a manufacturing environment where the noise level is moderate to high.
· The employee is required to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, ear plugs, and steel toed shoes.
· The position may face exposure to some high-heat areas; variances in temperature; exposure to smells, fumes, working around mechanical parts frequently
