MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A BACKGROUND CHECK.

SHIFT: 1st shift (A Crew) Monday through Thursday 5:00am-3:30pm is guaranteed and adding Friday's, Saturdays and Sunday's as needed

PAY RATE:

• The pay rate of $16.00 already factors in a $2.00 attendance premium.
• Employees start at $14.00 per hour but are eligible to earn an additional $2.00 per hour attendance premium.
• The attendance premium is earned weekly by maintaining reliable attendance, including no more than 30 minutes of tardiness per week.

What will you be doing as a packager?

• Counts number of articles to be banded and verify number specified on work order.
• Unwinds plastic or metal banding material from reel, wraps band around stack or bundle, inserts loose end of banding material into strapping tool, cinches and crimps banding material; clamp with strapping tool to secure articles during storage or shipment.
• Counts and records number of banded bundles.
• Cuts cardboard or other reinforcing material, and includes reinforcing material in bundle to protect articles during storage or shipment.
• Stacks bundled articles on pallet by hand.
• Bands articles to pallet to secure articles from moving.
• Marks or stencils size of article, customer name, order number, address or other identifying data on visible portion of bundle or shipping ticket.
• Alert Supervisor of employee issues or concerns.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
• Comply with all Aluminum Blanking Employee Conduct and Work Rules; comply with all policies contained in the Employee Handbook, specifically pertaining to safety.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Able to work in a safe and orderly manner, following written job instructions.
• Keep good attendance - within the guidelines of the company policies for absences and tardy/leave early.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
• Ability to read limited number of two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and series of numbers.
• Ability to function in a team-based environment.
• Must be able to read and write English language and use good verbal communication skills.
• Self motivated and able to work under minimal supervision.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and use hands to handle or feel. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands, arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to heat and cold and/or humid conditions, reflective of the weather outdoors. All jobs are performed indoors. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and vibration. The noise level is usually loud.
