What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician 2nd Shift position at Alumacraft Boat Co?
BRP AlumaCraft in St. Peter, MN has an opening for a Maintenance Tech. AlumaCraft has been a recognized employer in St Peter, building fishing boats for over 75 years! AlumaCraft became a part of BRP in 2018.
2nd Shift, 5:00 pm to 3:30 am, Mon-Thursday, (10 hour shifts), plus Fridays as needed
Purpose
Must have the ability to use a computer for entering work orders and related details. Job instructions, time spent, parts used, and hours worked need to be documented for every job when work order is closed.
CNC router and press brake experience a big plus.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
- Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists.
- Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as: hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
- Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.
- Inspect, operate, or test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
- Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work in a computer maintenance management system (GuideTi CMMS). Job instructions, time spent, parts used, and hours worked need to be documented for every job when work order is closed.
- Clean or lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery.
- Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.
- Plan and lay out repair work, using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, or schematic diagrams.
- Order parts, supplies, and equipment from catalogs and suppliers, or obtain them from storerooms.
- Adjust functional parts of devices or control instruments, using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, or straightedges.
Operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- High School Diploma or GED along with a minimum of 1 year of related experience.
- Will also consider those with a Certified Maintenance Technician (CMT) with 0 - 1 year of experience.
- CNC router and press brake experience is preferred.
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks
Must have the ability to use a computer for entering work orders and related details. Efficient in Excel, Word and Google Suite.
