The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely to various locations while providing excellent customer service. This role requires a strong understanding of route driving, as well as the ability to handle heavy lifting and operate various types of vehicles, including small to medium duty with trailer.
Duties
- Safely operate delivery vehicles to transport goods to designated locations.
- Plan and follow efficient routes to ensure timely deliveries.
- Load and unload items from the vehicle, ensuring proper handling of all materials.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including receipts and delivery confirmations.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding delivery status and any potential delays.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safety and reliability.
Skills
- Proven experience in route driving or as a courier with a strong focus on customer service.
- Experience as a delivery driver with knowledge of local roads and traffic patterns.
- Capability to perform heavy lifting tasks (up to 50 pounds) as required.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate record keeping.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with customers and team members.
